about

Dating back to 1983, this 7" by Strange Fruit Abiku captures the very first vinyl appearance made by Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth. The 90-second avant-pop of 'On Top Of A Hill' combines female vocals drums and a whole lot of noisy, detached clanking (much as you'd hope). 'Another Love Song' is even more detuned, laying down some decrepit crunchtone bass and all manner of wayward, no-wave din-mongering. Finally, 'The Cry Of Love' ups the aggro even further, sounding like a premonition of Magik Markers... Boomkat

- - (To paraphrase a fellow expatriated ZOOman: "There ain't no depression like a KalamafugginZoo river basin depression"; and so frissonisTikal despair that spawned the "scary"music in question,
just might🐝the sound ov s(d)e(o)r(p)o(e)t(a)o(m)n(i)i(n)neπrising!
